WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF WORN PARTS?

increase your stopping distance by many metres - sometimes even making it impossible to stop.

A new pair costs less than £10

WORN BRAKE PADS

STRETCHED CHAIN

When the links are stretched a chain can easily slip off or even snap whilst riding, risking the cyclist going over the handlebars.

A new chain is less than £20

WORN TYRES

The more worn tyres are, the more likely for debris / glass to get inside & puncture the tube. Tyres at too low of a pressure can fall off the rim whereas at too high pressure risk blowing.

CRACKED Frame

Cracks in the frame, forks & wheels are particularly common in secondhand bikes. Cycling on cracked frame risks it giving way & breaking whilst you're moving.
